A Centipede — Dream Meaning
Centipedes are fast, many-legged and often unsettling. In dreams they tend to represent a persistent worry, a problem with many parts, or something unpleasant that moves quicker than you can deal with.
A centipede crawling on you can reflect anxiety that's 'getting under your skin', or an irritation you can't brush off. It may also point to a person you feel is intrusive. Where it crawls can matter: on the hands may relate to work, on the face to how you present yourself, in bed to private or relationship worries.
A giant centipede suggests a problem that has grown out of proportion, or one you're exaggerating because it's so uncomfortable to look at.
Being bitten can mirror hurt from gossip, betrayal or a situation you didn't see coming.
Killing a centipede is usually positive: you're facing the problem and taking control. Failing to kill it, or watching it slip into a crack, is often read as a worry that keeps coming back.
Many centipedes, or a nest of them, may reflect overlapping stresses or a sense that small problems are multiplying. Finding them in a house, especially in the bathroom or kitchen, can suggest that stress has crept into your private, everyday space.
A centipede that looks like a snake or other creature may hint that the worry changes shape each time you look at it.
Because they move with so many coordinated legs, centipedes can also represent complexity and adaptability, the ability to handle many things at once. Consider what in your life feels like it has too many moving parts.
Traditionally, creepy-crawlies in dreams are often linked with small anxieties and irritations, and in some cultures the centipede is a symbol of protection or luck, so personal feeling about the creature matters.
Waking-life context changes the reading: a centipede dream during a busy period with many small tasks may simply mirror the overload.
If the problem were broken into single steps, which leg would you deal with first?
